This magnificent silver coin is created to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the birth of Albrecht Dürer. This is a commemorative piece of Self-Portrait at Twenty-Eight, Wearing a Coat with Fur Collar, a wood panel painting by German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer. Painted in the early 1500s, just before his 29th birthday, it is the last of his three painted self-portraits. The coin is made of 999/1000 pure silver, weighs 17.5 g and has a diameter of 50 mm. The face value of the coin is 500 CFA francs, the common currency of several countries in Central and West Africa. The reverse of the coin features a full-color digital print of Self-Portrait at Twenty-Eight, along with the name of the work in English and French. The obverse of the coin is decorated with gold gilding, which highlights the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the name of the issuing country, the year of issue and the face value. This coin is Proof grade and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a presentation box. This coin was issued in 2021, with a mintage quantity limited to 550 copies.
